Personal Information

Avani is a first-generation American with familial roots in India, Guyana, and Spain. She grew up in both New York City and Houston, alongside her two sisters and her parents. Avani is new to the DFW metroplex and has been enjoying exploring the cities with her partner, two cats, and puppy. Avani’s diverse background provides her with a rich understanding of cultural complexities and the experience of navigating multiple identities. Avani’s firsthand experience with the challenges of being "othered" or navigating different cultural identities allows her to empathize deeply with clients who may feel out of place— feelings many adolescents and teens are faced with. Avani’s background enriches her ability to connect with clients from varied backgrounds and support them in navigating their own experiences of feeling different.
