Personal Information

Su was born in South Korea and moved to America, arriving in Dallas in 2015. Throughout her life as the pastor’s daughter and pastor’s wife, she has encountered so many different people who have heavy and broken hearts, including herself, with failure, shame, emotional instability, infertility, and grief. Meanwhile, through counseling sessions, Su has seen that God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3) and the beauty of transformation from a troubled heart, including having freedom from the past, pain, phobia, and pressure from others and living in the present. Thus, she started to study counseling to serve and support clients in their path toward renewal and wholeness.

In her spare time, Su enjoys playing the piano and watching the sunset with her husband, including talking to her nephew and two nieces. Also, she likes to explore and taste international food. Fun facts about Su are that she wears a hat for four seasons and has a strong Korean accent while still enjoying life in Texas, like Jalapenos and Kimchi mixed for flavor.

Counseling Approach and Areas of Practice

Su is the counselor who is ready to walk with you in the midst of your valley, getting to know
hope and truth. Su specializes in assisting individuals, couples, and marriages where hope and
trust are shattered, and joy is absent in situations of abuse, interpersonal conflicts, split-ups,
divorce, and grief. Su is skillful in helping clients realize how to untangle feelings, how to
express emotions, how to be calm, how to handle conflicts, how to cope, how to communicate,
and how to connect with their loved one. The therapeutic approaches of Su are narrative therapy,
rational-emotive behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, Gottman method, and emotionally
focused therapy.

Su believes that despite panic or painful moments and seasons, people have the potential and
power to take each step to process their pain with peace and purpose in life. Also, she assures
that even though people might feel chaotic or challenged at some point, they have the capacity to choose to change and grow. As your companion, Su will sincerely be in tune with your core
concerns with curiosity, calmness, and care, without judgment. She is flexible to your pace
during the counseling sessions according to your preferences, needs, and goals. Su aims to
support you in increasing self-awareness and deeper self-actualization while she assists you in
exploring the emotions and the human experience of life, finding meaning in your journey, and
