Approach to Counseling:

David provides an integrated approach to counseling, drawing primarily from interpersonal process, existential and cognitive-behavioral therapy methods. He is trained in trauma-informed care. Sessions are used to identify and explore internal and external factors contributing to psychological distress. He supports and empowers his clients as they engage the change process and introduces them to new skills for managing and maintaining their mental health. While specific goals are tailored to each individual’s needs, an overall goal is to guide clients toward increased self-awareness, self-understanding, self-respect, and self-motivation.

David enjoys exploring the natural world with his family and friends. He and his wife are recently Anglican and contribute to their church’s bi-annual Pre-Marriage Weekend. Each season, David roots for the Rangers to win the World Series.
