Dennis is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 25 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families develop stronger relationships and learn healthy communication skills to be effective at home and work. Dennis loves people, appreciates what makes each person unique, and enjoys seeing people excel. A gifted problem solver, Dennis has a passion for helping people get “unstuck” and move forward with full and meaningful lives, relationships, and careers. Dennis enjoys meeting with clients to complete a thorough assessment of mental, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual needs. Clients with addictions will appreciate his approach to discovering the pain of the past that the addiction of the present is designed to relieve so they can move forward with their permanent recovery. In 2011, he received certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor from the Faith Based Counselor Training Institute. He has done marital counseling, marriage enrichment groups, and incest recovery groups.

Dennis is also very effective at working with the families of aging parents to help them through the turmoil of caring for their aging loved ones. He has experience in private practice, psychiatric hospitals, and inpatient geriatric psychiatric units in med/surg hospitals including Baylor Scott & White of Irving. Over the last 17 years, Dennis has provided continuing education programs to nurses, social workers, and professional counselors in almost every major medical center in the Dallas Ft Worth area.
Dennis understands the demands and pressures of military service. A Dallas native, after graduating from Grand Prairie High School, Dennis joined the Texas Air National Guard, Hensley Field, Dallas where he served as an Intelligence Specialist presenting monthly air crew intelligence & survival briefings for six years. He received an honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant.
Following graduation from Dallas Baptist University, Dennis moved to Seattle, Washington to become a Youth Minister/Associate Pastor for three years while working on a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy at Seattle Pacific University. He moved back to Dallas where he served in three churches as a Singles Minister, Minister of Education, and Associate Pastor until completing his master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M, Commerce. Dennis, along with Dr. Jonathan Cude, started the Christian Counseling Network in 1990 which later merged with another Christian Counseling organization.
Dennis and his wife have three grown daughters and two awesome grandsons! He and his wife are active members of a local church and are strong supporters of Celebrate Recovery for dealing with life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups! He has experienced broad professional success and loves learning new things. Dennis loves spending time on lakes and in the mountains & forests. His hobbies include boating, boat rebuilding, electronics, auto mechanics, and home remodeling.
